Charter NI’s catchment area, specifically in neighbourhood renewal areas, is faced with severe problems of economic inactivity and low levels of educational attainment. While the reasons are complex and interrelated, youth unemployment, a lack of jobs, limited access and a mismatch of skills to opportunities means that employment and training remains a critical issue which requires a strategic and practical response.
